Every year my birthday either falls on or close to Thanksgiving. However, even before I became a vegan, I never really loved Thanksgiving food. I remember my mom making me spaghetti, while the rest of the family enjoyed in all the traditional dishes… very coincidental seeing as though I’m a Thanksgiving baby…
So you’re thinking, what about all the vegan holiday dishes- yay, still not a huge fan. I definitely don’t pass up the Brussels sprouts or green beans, but I’m not big on stuffing, tofurkies, or anything crazy. Above are some of the recipes more up my alley =)
Although I’m not overly excited about the food, I have loved the tradition of sharing the holiday spirit with birthday festivities. Family time, vino, birthday cake, and football- sounds good to me!
What are some of your Thanksgiving traditions?

I’m not even remotely vegan and I want to make and eat every single recipe you posted! Those mashed potatoes and soup especially!
Do you ever go to Plant on Steiner? They have deeelicious vegan cookies!
All of those dishes look amaaazing.
I like to have some kind of green vegetable as a side at Thanksgiving for sure. This year I’m going to do sauteed chard with cranberries and toasted walnuts. And maybe some cubed butternut squash in there too. It makes the plate look so pretty and lightens things up too!
The brussel sprouts and the acorn squash with quinoa look great! I love the presentation of the acorn squash. It’s so nice to have vegetarian options that don’t revolve around a “mock-version of meat.” Although my non-vegetarian family is usually pretty nice about accomodating my non-meat diet, they usually like to do it with meat replacements. I love these options that would be equally enjoyed by all!
All of it looks incredible! I think I will start with the vegan pumpkin pie
and then move on to the brussel sprouts and squash. You only live once!
