I had been wanting a pair of leopard flat sandals all summer. The ones from Zara sold out fast (seems like a theme), so I ended up swooping a pair from Dorothy Perkins. Along with these and a couple other items (pumps and a belt), this was my first purchase from the UK retailer. I was able to use both a 15% promo code and their over $75 free shipping, so not too bad. Between taking 10 full working days to arrive, the quality, and the hassle to return (cost me about $13), unfortunately, I probably won’t be shopping with the UK retailer again. I love the leopard sandals seen here, but not sure how long they’ll last, I kept the reversible belt, and returned the pumps (too big and poor quality). Despite not loving the quality, everything seems to be a little big too.
I know I find reviews on products and retailers to be extremely helpful, so it made sense to fill you in on my experience. If you’ve shopped with Dorothy Perkins I’d love to hear your thoughts.

Good to know… I have definitely seen some drool worthy Dorothy Perkins items on Pinterest but haven’t heard much feedback from actual purchasers… I am weary of ordering from UK retailers, having just worked up the courage to order from TopShop and ASOS all in the same month, between the shipping and customs I have to make sure that the items are REALLY worth it! Those sandals are certainly cute… I hope they hold up for you!

Thank you for this review! I actually was thisclose to buying the SAME pair of sandals but didn’t. I was also about to nab a Victoria Beckham lookalike scallop dress too but stopped myself. I’ve heard similar comments about the online store…and while I think they have some fab looking items and decently priced items too…I haven’t made the jump to purchase. Unfortunately, the more I hear, the less I’m inclined to shop there. Such a shame too! =(

@Nancy @Jessica – I’ve definitely seen some really cute pieces at great prices on their site, but the hit and miss on quality and hassle of shipping overseas just isn’t worth it to me. If they were a US retailer, I’d be more willing to take the risk.
The sandals do look cute in pictures. I really love and appreciate this review because I have been seeing a lot of items around the blog community from Dorothy Perkins and was thinking of ordering. I will probably order if it’s something really cheap or on super sale.

And I love your honest opinion on Dorothy Perkins, the only UK company I haven’t had issues with is ASOS.
I’ve shopped with DP also, twice. I returned something both times (2nd time I returned the whole package – the sizes are just not consistent!) but I LOVE the dresses that I did keep, so I’m still 50/50 about whether I’d shop with them again! I guess just knowing that I may end up paying $13 to return is something I’d keep in mind, but I’m going to try to stick with US retailers

I have been wondering about the quality as their prices seem to be less expensive than Asos and Topshop so I wondered about quality. Quality is one thing if you can score something on sale from Target or Joe Fresh but when you have to ship it over seas I think I would rather get something a bit more well … worth it.

Interesting. I’ve had wonderful success with Dorothy Perkins! I have four fabulous dresses and some accessories. I find that you need to read the product description carefully. When you know their fabrics, it’s easier to determine your size. I have returned one dress that I ordered but the blame was on me. It said “empire waist” but it looked more natural waist on the mannequin. Sure enough it was “empire” and it looked not so great on my frame. I love Dorothy Perkins and would definitely order again (at least for dresses, based on my experience.)
hmm the poor quality is making me rethink purchasing the maxi dress I was lusting over. maybe their prices are just too good to be true.
I’ve had a feeling about the quality, haven’t got anything from them, but I saw those sandals when I was looking for a similar style from Shoe Mint (they don’t ship here), and thought that they didn’t look as nice as the Shoe Mint ones so I didn’t get them. Still, they do look nice on you, but as you say, maybe they won’t last too much. That’s too bad! I’ve been very happy with some Asos purchases I’ve made, everything ships super fast and for free! Even here in the Island!! you can’t beat that
same with shopbop, easy, no hassle, and super fast.

Good to know! The sandals look fabulous with that outfit (love the vest), and I’ve been seeing great looking items from this retailer pop up on lots of style boards lately, but based on your review, international shipping just doesn’t seem worth it. I like to be able to try things on/evaluate quality and then return them easily, so I usually stick to places with free return shipping or in-store returns…

I have ordered two dresses from Dorothy Perkins. If you are patient with the delivery, it is well worth the wait. I found that the dresses were pretty true to size, no need for expensive alterations. I think the biggest perk is that you usually end up with something that all your friends don’t. I would recommend in a heartbeat!
