Karl Ossie two-tone leather biker vest // Reiss Maddison Jacket // Zara Safari Jacket // SANDRO Vertige leather-trimmed tweed jacket // AUBIN & WILLS Sliverthorne sequined tuxedo jacket // KARL Jacey snakeskin-effect leather jacket // ACNE Rita suede aviator jacket // AUBIN & WILLS Buckholme striped jersey blazer

I think one of the great things about doing outfit photos is learning about your personal style. You’re more likely to challenge yourself and think outside the box to utilize every piece in your closet. You’ll also find out what works on your body and what doesn’t (being able to see your outfit back in a photo can be a game changer). As ‘my’ style continues to grow and evolve I try to learn more about what I gravitate towards, what pieces are staples in my wardrobe, and what can transition from day and night. Like I mentioned before, I try to make every purchase a conscious, well thought out decision (it’s gotta be versatile and work in my closet).

Lately, I’ve noticed I gravitate toward what I like to call the third piece. I’m completely dressed and right before I’m out the door I add either a vest, lightweight jacket, or blazer. I not only love layering for the look (you’ll always look a little more pulled together) but also the function (I get cold and the weather in sf is finicky). So, today’s Currently Craving is dedicated to all those third pieces I’d love to have in my closet… the Karl Ossie biker vest is so dreamy (sigh).

What are your thoughts on the third piece? Love it or not a big deal?

On Repeat

{Zara dress, Gap denim vest, Nine West sandals, Longchamp bag, F21 hat}

I wore this outfit Saturday for wine tasting. I love the easiness of this dress and love that the vest adds a bit of an edge. Napa, wine, and amazing weather, sure, I’ll pretend it’s summer and play the part.

Clearly, this hat and vest have been on repeat as of late. Although I’m not one to care when I love something so much I wear it seven days straight, posting for the world to see, that’s another story (woops). I’m definitely getting my money’s worth… and I guess you can say, it serves as inspiration on how to style both  in different ways =)

Weekend Recap

{started the weekend off with margaritas at our fav local spot}

{first stop, Gloria Ferrer in Sonoma}

{had lunch in downtown Napa}

{Artesa Vineyards & Winery}

{amazing ambiance at Artesa}

{had dinner at Fume Bistro and Bar}

Our little weekend getaway to Napa could not have been more perfect. We stopped at a couple wineries, ate amazing food, drank fantastic wine (and other things), shopped, and snuck in some playoff basketball. And to top it off, the weather was amazing. I’d have to say, every now and then, a complete change of scenery with a glass of wine in hand is not only relaxing, but necessary. It was such a beautiful weekend. Happy birthday to my love and best friend (it was officially yesterday).

I hope you enjoyed your weekend. Happy Monday!

Napa Bound

 1 // 2 // 3 // 4 // 5

The boy and I are headed to Napa for a little weekend getaway to celebrate his birthday. We’re looking forward to sipping wine, eating yummy food, an afternoon by the pool, shopping, and some overall relaxation. I cannot wait! We’re in store for some amazing weather, so thank you mother nature.

Have any fun plans this weekend?

Dear warm weather,

Please come back to us, you were looking so good … ok, I’ll give you a break, but please warm up by Saturday. Thannks!

A little tidbit about this outfit- I bought this dress over three years ago and had never worn it until this day. Thank you outfit posts for helping me reinvent another piece in my closet. Happy Thursday!

Current Obsession

Perfect shirt in linen // keeper chambray shirt // Three-quarter sleeve stretch perfect shirt // Jacquard Dot Popover // Perfect shirt in stripe linen // Altuzarra for J.Crew Odette blouse

Last week I picked up the perfect tunic button down from J.Crew similar to this one. I’m absolutely in love with the fit and the style and color are so classic. I’m sure many of you share this obsession, but I can’t help but love every single shirt in J.Crew right now. I think it’s become more noticeable because I’ve finally embraced them … I mean don’t you want one in every style, print, and color? And so much versatility too- they can be worn with shorts, skinnies, colored denim, boyfriend jeans, skirts, under sweaters, or doubled up. Definitely become a big fan.

Anyone else loving this look?

Going Green

{Old Navy dress, F21 denim jacket & hat (similar), Steve Madden flats, Longchamp bag, Bracelets: Gap, Juicy, Splendid}

I threw on this green maxi dress for happy hour on one of the warmer days last week. For warmer spring days and summer nights you can almost always catch me in flowy dresses and comfy rompers. They’re easy, comfortable, chic, and perfect for adding accessories. I’m making the disclaimer now, the closer we get to summer the more you’ll be seeing these comfortable, laid back looks … What are some of your go-to’s for those hot days?

Weekend Recap

{happy hour at The Brixton}

{ice cold sauvignon blanc on a warm Friday afternoon = bliss}

{beauty in all directions}

{sippin’ mimosas on a beautiful Saturday at Fort Mason}

{sun bathing with the rest of sf}

{we met Lilly at the park. cutest toy poodle ever!}

{sushi dinner date on Fillmore}

{late afternoon stroll in our neighborhood}

Happy Monday! How was your weekend? The bf and I spent the majority of ours soaking up as much sunshine as possible. Saturday we sipped mimosas and met a slew of new dog friends at Fort Mason park, enjoyed a big bowl of strawberry sorbet, and then took an afternoon stroll through our neighborhood for sushi on Fillmore. Probably the best warm weather day I could ask for. In good ol San Francisco fashion, Sunday the fog rolled in so we spent the day running errands, watching basketball, and lounging.

We’re headed to Napa this weekend for the bf’s birthday so I’m hoping this week flies by… Cheers to a great week friends!

TGIF

{this is what happens when the weather warms up – lunching al fresco, Japantown with the fam, and a walk through the park}

This week has been one of those weeks where Friday could not have come sooner. I think I’m a bit worn out and on Internet and media overload. I cannot wait to unplug and enjoy the beautiful weather we’re having (finally). I’m hoping a workout, picnic in the park that includes a good read and mimosas, and a couple good meals will help me rest and recharge.

What do you have planned?
