I’ve been on the search for the perfect pair of destroyed denim. When you have short legs on top of an already short frame, finding a pair of jeans can be difficult. Everything from the wash, style, length, to the way they sit on your hips, and even where the jeans fade can all play a part in how they look on you. You can go from looking long and lean to a major stump fest. I typically stay with dark washes with little to no fade, however, that’s not really the look when it comes to either boyfriend jeans or destroyed denim.
Enter short girl challenge 100, find the perfect destroyed denim in a medium to dark wash, with some fade that doesn’t make your legs look super short. I’ve been loving what I’ve seen on the blogs from Zara, but everytime I go in there’s either nothing that resembles what I’m looking for, or anything close to my size. Fail. On a whim I tried Forever 21 and spotted these. Perfect color and wash, were semi destroyed, and not too oversized in the boyfriend jean department. The most important part, I knew I could cut, rip, and DIY them to death and if I didn’t like them, I could toss em. Final verdict- Love the way these turned out. Who knew $20 and a little DIY could prove to create the perfect pair of jeans.
Anyone else DIY-ing to get their perfect jean?

Great job with the jeans, they look awesome! I am on the hunt for the perfect navy blazer, and I am loving yours, but I have the same issue when I go to H&M – I can never find what I’m looking for in that crazy store!
that’s a really cute pony!
I am loving this look. The neutral colors and the destroyed denim are perfect together. I agree…who knew F21 could make jeans that fit well? I owned a pair a few years ago and wore them out!

Love. Forever21 has been surprisingly good for colored skinny pants this year too. I’m a big fan of the twill cigarette in one…for $15.80 I had to buy three pairs!
You look flawless. Love every piece that makes up this look. Your pictures are also beautiful.
great find! Love the rough around the edges but still chic look! I have DIY’d some jeans into shorts, but haven’t tried my hand at any denim destruction yet!

What, F21?! They look like super expensive high end denim! LOVE! You know I love a great pair of distressed jeans w/a blazer. Such a perfect combo! http://www.casualglamorous.com
This outfit is so cute on you! Love how you dressed up the destroyed denim! I’ve never tried Forever 21 jeans but a friend of mine swears by them. She says the fit is great and they are so cheap that you can buy tons of pairs! Maybe I’ll have to give them a shot!
I love this look, and I love that you created your own distressed jeans! I did the same thing to create my own pair of distress boyfriend jeans! I’d love for you to check it out!
