How was everyone’s weekend? The weather here was pretty unbeatable, which meant we spent most of the last couple of days outside. Friday night we took Lola out to dinner in Campbell and walked around a little downtown. Saturday we spent the afternoon in Los Gatos, sipping margaritas and watching the pup meet new friends. Yesterday morning I caught up on blog posts and pinned my life away… probably one of my favorite ways to start a Sunday. We had some of Mike’s family over for playtime with Lola and then capped off the night at our friends dog’s birthday party, cake and all, haha.

To top off a great weekend, Lola let us sleep in until 8:30 am on Saturday. Oh man, did it feel good!

Happy Monday! How was your weekend? Mother’s Day weekend always seem a bit crazy around here. Lots of sets of parents to see, a bit of traveling, and add a puppy this year, and you’ve got a jammed packed couple of days. Saturday we spent the day in Pacifica/Half Moon Bay with Mike’s family. Lola came along for the ride and had such a great day annoying Peanut and playing with all her toys. She saw the ocean, barked at dogs three times her size, and finally spent some time on the grass (she hasn’t been a fan of grass thus far). We’re making big strides over here! Sunday I spent Mother’s Day with my side of the family in Los Gatos playing bocce ball and enjoying bottomless mimosas. Beautiful weather and a weekend full of family, it doesn’t get better than that!

Cheers to a great week!

Weekend Recap

{met friends for lunch in Willow Glen}

{gluten free tomato basil pasta from Willow Street Pizza}

{another mini birthday celebration for Mike… with Lola}

{new Revelry tee from Meg… how fun is the gold foil?!}

{definitely having a moment with rhinestone necklaces. from left to right: vintage via Sweet & Spark, Forever 21, and Juicy Couture}

{takeout Korean food, yum!}

This past weekend was exactly what weekends are made for; really productive yet relaxing at the same time. We took Lola to Willow Glen to meet friends for lunch and walk around. This was her first time in a ‘sitting’ setting and to be honest, I was expecting the worst. The good thing, every table outside had a dog which maybe meant they’d be more understanding, but the bad thing, Lola wanted to mingle with every single one of them. She did some barking, but eventually settled down… we were pretty impressed considering she’s a 4 month old puppy. I’d say, success! Saturday night we ordered takeout and watched Django Unchained (an obvious Mike pick). I thought I would hate it, but actually got into it. I thought the acting was amazing. Has anyone else seen it?

Sunday was a day of errands, guacamole making, cookie eating, basketball watching, and some good ole me time. We didn’t necessarily celebrate Cinco De Mayo, but we sure did have a great couple of days… and I mean, there was guacamole involved =)

How was your weekend?

{birthday boy Lucas and Lola… look at those Converse, so cute!}

Happy Monday! How was your weekend? Between family in town, birthday parties, and Lola’s first time at the park, it was quite the few days over here! It’s always great when my aunt Nicole and her family are in town, lots of laughs, catching up, and eating, but come Sunday night I’m always so beat. That’s what happens when you try to pack so many things into one weekend, right? Despite being tired today, it was one of the best weekends in a while. I know Lola had a ball meeting and playing with her cousins =)

p.s. If you’re in or near the San Jose area, Fiesta Del Mar is a hidden gem in Mountain View and a must try. The food is fantastic and the drinks are spot on!

{quality time on Sunday with my little lady… fits our decor so well}

If you saw this Instagram post then you know last week was one of the hardest weeks I’ve had in awhile. Mike was gone on an overnight school field trip for three nights, so I was alone with Lola. Between the crazy terrible-two’s behavior and a mild scare (everything is fine) on Tuesday night that resulted in a visit to the vet Wednesday morning, I was completely and utterly drained. I cannot tell you how relieved and happy I was to see Mike on Friday at 1:00 pm. Since all three of us had quite the week, we spent this weekend recuperating and relaxing. I played soccer Saturday which was a nice stress reliever, picked up flowers and stocked up the refrigerator, made some progress with Lola in the training department (less biting more playing), and finally left her alone for more than an hour while we ran a few errands. Although they’re baby steps, this threesome is making progress, woohoo!

The good news, it can only go up from here, right? At least this is what I’m telling myself everyday… I hope you all had a wonderfully relaxing weekend. Cheers to a great week!

Happy Monday! How was your weekend? As mentioned last week, Mike and I didn’t have too many things planned as Lola still needs her last couple of shots to socialize outside. We did however, take a family trip to Petco, Lola took her first ride in the car in her crate (which she did well), and we gave her her first bath. She didn’t freak out too too much in the water, but she had the saddest face and was shivering so much I started crying. I’m a wimp in general, but it seriously was the most heartbreaking thing ever. I know dogs shiver after a bath and that it will take time and some getting used to, but wholly wet, skinny, sad puppy (for those of you with dogs, you know what I’m talking about). I think I was more traumatized than she was lol.

I think I’ve now become that overprotective, overly nervous puppy mama that is stressing out everyone involved. I’m still getting used to taking care and looking after someone else besides myself, so I’m hoping there’s not only a learning curve, but an emotional curve, gesh! Lots of wine, lots of wine… right (partly joking, but not really)?
