Weekend Recap

{Appetizers and drinks at The Republic} {30X – strawberry puree cocktail} {bagels and coffee on a Sunday morning} {the Marina from Broadway} {Fort Mason Park} {Fleet Week celebrations} {the bf’s mango margarita} Good morning friends! Long time no see. Sorry I was  a bit MIA last week, I was getting a little procedure done, but I’m back and well =) Despite all the Fleet Week shenanigans we stayed pretty low key. We watched and heard planes go by on our rooftop, met friends at The Republic, and walked to Fort Mason for sunshine and a better view. Unfortunately, I didn’t get any snaps of the jets ( I know, I know, who does that?). With the exception of a Fleet Week parade, blocking all streets (just madness and reasons I like to stay in during all sf events), we had a great weekend with friends and lots of sunshine.

Weekend Recap

Good morning lovelies! How was your weekend? I literally spent the last couple of days resting and getting well, which also means little to no camera action. Cold, allergies, whatever it was, I felt super run down. So with nothing really planned, it felt pretty amazing to just relax and make soup. I did make it out of the apartment Saturday afternoon for drinks, my favorite drink that is, and appetizers at Tipsy Pig. p.s. Some other happenings since I last saw you: much appreciated link love from Erin and I participated in the first Blog Brunch on Saturday and met some fabulous ladies! Hope you all have fantabulous Monday!

Weekend Recap

{arugula and fennel salad} {Friday night wine and take-out pizza} {downtown shopping} {Tacolicious- our new fav spot} {Car wash near Divisadero} {The Marina} {Farmers Market} Indian summer has officially hit sf! Our weekend was equal parts relaxing and productive while also taking in as much warm weather as possible. We shopped downtown, hit the farmers market in the Marina, dined on yummy tacos, had a killer workout, and lounged around Filmore at every outside table we could get our hands on! We completed our Sunday with burritos and a football game-  talk about perfection. . I hope you all had a wonderful weekend and were able to enjoy the amazing weather.

Weekend Recap

{Beautiful day on the bay} {Mijita margarita} {Veggie taco, yum!} {First denim on denim experience and my fav Longchamp bag} {Strawberry Fields at Tipsy Pig- hands down, my favorite drink} {Blue Barn might have the best fries ever!} {Fraiche w/ walnuts, almonds, granola, and my own V/gf  oreos} Anyone else having a hard time getting up this morning? The week to weekend ratio should always be 4 to 3, just sayin. This weekend was both productive and relaxing… probably the best combination. We worked out, sipped refreshing cocktails, dined out, took in the semi-deserted city, shopped, visited the bf’s family, got lost at the Alameda flea market (pics to come), and cleaned the entire apartment. See, this is what happens when you have an extra day off.  Hope you were able to throw your feet up and enjoy a glass of wine. Wishing you all a short and sweet week!

Weekend Recap

Good morning friends, how was your weekend? Much too short, right? … not to mention, waking up to gloomy weather really puts a damper on your early morning wake up call… just saying! The bf and I spent the weekend just as planned; a lot of lounging and relaxing. Friday night we dinned on chips and guacamole at Mamacita and then yummy pizza and vino at Delarosa. Saturday I dragged him to see One Day and spent the rest of the weekend at the farmers market, breakfast in Hayes Valley, cooking dinner, and prepping for the work week. Overall, very lazy but so perfect! p.s. follow me on instagram, Crystalinsf!

Long Weekend + Good News

1/2/3/4/5/6 I leave you with words and Memorial Day inspired images to lead you into this 3-day weekend… After taking some time to think it through, the bf and I decided to get our own place! We’ve lived together for a while now, but either with roommates or staying over at each other’s places. It was tough parting with our apartment (the large size and amazing view), but we knew it was time. We have been fortunate enough to find a place down the block in the same neighborhood (love living near whole foods, and the park). I’m super excited and can’t wait to decorate! He even said he didn’t mind sparkly sequin throw pillows, uh hello! In other news, I hope you have a wonderful weekend; bbqing, lounging, eating, and enjoying time with family and friends. See you next week!

Weekend Recap

{lunch at Mijita} {Tried Pepple’s Vegan Donuts} {Scream Sorbet: cashew carmel, chocolate, and strawberry} {Dolores Street on a Sunday} Good morning friends! How was your weekend? Apparently the forecasters were mistaken on the rain and snow. We had nothing but sunshine; bitter cold, but gorgeous blue skies! With better weather came less lounging and more eating (lots of favorites though). We spent this weekend enjoying date night at A16 (we had to go back so the bf could try the pizza), feasting at the Ferry Building Farmer’s Market, painting my nails a glittery gold in honor of the Oscars, working out, doing lots of computer stuff, and brunching at Toast in Noe Valley. Overall, lots of yummy food, and a very productive couple days! p.s. did you catch the Oscars? Best dressed for sure; Jennifer Lawrence in Calvin Klein, Michelle Williams in Chanel and Cate Blanchett in Givenchy Couture. Who were your favs?

Vegan Sweets

Vegan products get a lot of flack; “ew, vegan that must be gross.” But I want  to make it loud and clear, vegan desserts can and are fantastic.  Aside from frozen yogurt, if you were never told it was vegan, I don’t think you could ever tell the difference. I became dairy and meat free about 4 years ago and have had my share of nasty, bland, dirt tasting vegan treats. Now that it’s become a tiny bit more mainstream and less granola/tree hugging, there have been some great products brought to market. After trying everything out there, here’s my list of favorite sweets, vegan style… Best vegan desserts to date: Cookie- Oatmeal raisin from Peet’s Coffee. Cupcake- Vanilla cake with chocolate frosting from The Plant Cafe Organic. Popsicle- Twirl and Dip strawberry fruitsicle seen here. Sorbet- Scream Sorbet at the Farmer’s Market seen here. All flavors are made without dairy… they just opened a location, but it’s in Oakland, boooo. Smoothie-  Strawberry from The Plant. Secret ingredient, dates Donuts- Posh’s chocolate and crumb are my favs. Check out your nearest Whole Foods. I have yet to try Pepple’s at the Ferry Building,  but they are a MUST, with with at least 16 varieties! Muffins- blueberry muffins from Franklin’s Whole Foods (in the self-serve section). Yogurt Shop- Fraiche‘s soy yogurt with gram crackers and shaved chocolate. Chocolate- 365′s Vegan Chocolate Chips (from Whole Foods). I use these to bake and for all desserts. Store bought-  SO Delicious neapolitan ice cream sandwiches and Talenti Sonoma Strawberry sorbetto (both available at Whole Foods). Let me know if you have any recommendations for vegan sweets here in Sf. ♥
