Keeping it Casual
{BDG chambray, SheInside shorts c/o, vintage Coach shoulder bag, sandals from random boutique (similar), Mossimo Supply Co. hat}

I was initially hesitant about trying any type of lace/crochet shorts. Lace and scallops together just felt too girly for me. I passed on the trend last year, but after seeing a girl dress them down with a casual chambray recently, I was intrigued again. I snagged this inexpensive pair from SheInside and could not be more pleased with the fit. They aren’t too short or tight, and they’re beyond comfortable. The forgiving elastic waist and soft lace make me feel like I’m running around in my pj’s… not sure if this is a good or bad thing, ha! Sometimes you just have to try whatever it is on. Definitely a fan now.
What are your thoughts on the lace/crochet shorts trend?

Borrowed from the Boys
{AG denim jacket c/o, camo tee borrowed from the boyfriend (similar), Gap DIY jeans (similar), Asos heeled sandals, vintage unknown bag, Forever 21 necklace (similar)}

I used to make fun of Mike for having this camo tee in his rotation (well, his home rotation). Number one, camo done wrong is just wrong, and number two, it was way too small for him. During our move last year I told him to he had to toss it out… but after staring at the tee and coming up with five different ways to style it, I sneakily tucked it into my box of clothes. Mike was obviously a little confused when he saw it reappear in the new apartment. At this point, I smiled and said, I could use a little camo in my life… this was then welcomed with several snarky comments about my comments a couple months back (hehe, oops).
At the end of the day we both win, he doesn’t look like a 12 year old boy and I found the perfect camo tee.
Happy Thursday, friends!

Drop Waist Perfection
{Zara girls dress, J.Crew Everly pumps, vintage Coach shoulder bag (current version), Michael Kors watch, Sequin chain link bracelet (similar), David Yurman ring}

Lets talk about this dress. This is what I like to call drop waist perfection! The muted green color makes it super versatile, the silhouette is one of my absolute favs, and the material is so silky/soft. I was a little hesitant to purchase this dress at first because I wasn’t sure how the GIRLS sizing would translate on my body, and although it fits snug in odd places, I couldn’t let it go. It’s that GOOD! I think I need more of this color in my life for the summer… khaki green and tan skin are like a match made in heaven, right?

Hello
{Hello Apparel sweatshirt, Asos faux leather skirt & heeled sandals, vintage coach shoulder bag, Best Personal Jewelry nameplate c/o}

I would have never ever thought I’d be wearing strappy high heeled sandals just a couple years ago. I touched on this last year in this post. However, in the last year or so I’ve really embraced the minimal, ladylike sandal and have been on the search for the right pair for quite some time. If only I fit into Zara shoes, I’d probably already have had a pair, but of course my small feet never make things that easy. When I saw this pair from Asos, I knew I had to give them a shot. For the price, these can’t be beat and typically I can count on their shoes to run true to size. They’re definitely keepers and I may even need them in tan too!
p.s. I’m so glad I didn’t have to tuck this faux leather skirt away for the warmer months. How fun is the gold and navy? Another great color combo to add to the books!

Neon Accents
{Zoe Karssen tee, Zara jacket (similar), Gap DIY shorts (similar), J.Crew Everly pumps, pendant necklace unknown, Best Personal Jewelry nameplate c/o, 3.1 Phillip Lim satchel}

I completely forgot how much I love this jacket (kinda forgot about it all together, whoops)! Bright color, structured, and a bit edgy, how can you not love? I had envisioned pairing it with my cobalt heels, but had no idea how perfect the two colors would compliment each other. For a girl who doesn’t wear a ton of bright colors, I’m totally digging this… on repeat for sure!
Oh yes, and welcome the new hair cut. I went in for a trim, I thought 2 inches wouldn’t be much. Well, it ended up being a lot shorter than I had expected, but I absolutely love it! Perfect for spring and summer and just an overall refreshed look.

Prep
{Gap oxford shirt, Old navy linen shorts (old), leopard belt via Target, J.Crew Everly pumps, Clare Vivier clutch}

Sometimes warm weather calls for your favorite pair of linen shorts and the perfect oxford shirt. To me, these two paired together just scream summer and to make it a little more unexpected, I added a touch of leopard and threw on some nude heels. Warm weather always throws me for a loop when it comes to getting dressed because I get over the whole shorts, tanks, and sandals thing real fast… they’re so many other great pieces I love to wear, you know?
In other news, I’m finally getting my haircut today! Nothing crazy, just a trim and added layers, but sometimes when life gets busy, it’s those little things like a haircut that get you going in the morning lol.
I hope you’re having a great week so far =)
