Keeping it Real
Sorry in advance for such a long post. I’ve been going back and forth on whether to share more about me on the blog, you know, posts that will help you get a better understanding of who I am and where I’m coming from. This blog has always been dedicated to pretty products and photos or the fun things I do and eat… kinda just on the surface though. After reading a bunch of posts from the Things I’m Afraid To Tell You series and your feedback earlier this week, I think many of you love seeing pretty products or outfits, but also enjoy getting to know the blogger and relating on different levels, real life levels. With that being said, I’ve decided to incorporate more personal posts every now and then (on top of what I’ve been doing). Some of these will be basic, others will be funny, and some will have stories behind them. I think I do a pretty decent job at keeping this blog ‘real’ and not too ‘glamorous’ with my outfits and affordable fashion, but I hope sharing more about me will help make this space even more real and relatable and less ‘perfect.’ Oh yes, I’m also hoping to talk more about my vegan/gluten-free/healthy lifestyle and discuss my workouts. I think the boyfriend (he’ll beg to differ) is a bit of a genius when it comes to the human body and how it works, so I’ve been fortunate to learn so much. I’m looking forward to you getting to know the girl behind the blog and along the way getting to know you better. I hope you have a fantastic weekend and thank you for listening to me ramble this week and for all the amazing feedback on Wednesday. Happy Friday!

My Question For You
Something a little different on the blog today. Since you all help drive this blog and keep me motivated day in and day out (thank you), I thought I’d check in to see what you want to see more of on ITCWC. This blog has definitely come a long way… just in terms of content. I used to focus more on things I love; trends, products, or stories. Now, it’s more focused on my personal photos, life in the city, outfits, and fashion. I want to make sure we’re all on the same page. I mean … without you I probably would have given up on blogging and all the social media-ish. Could you imagine if I was only instagramming lol? WHAT WOULD YOU LIKE TO SEE MORE OF? Vegan recipes, or health and workout related posts? Are you interested in more personal posts (get to know me a little better)? Do you want to see more outfits? What about budget friendly finds? I know a lot of you don’t comment, but I would love to hear what you have to say. I also wanted to let you know I’ll be answering fashion and outfit related questions here on the blog (hopefully once a week). I think it’s a great way to respond to emails and answer questions many other readers may have too. To get an idea of the questions: How do I get the most out of white denim? What to wear to a summer wedding, Where can I find comfortable but stylish walking shoes? I’m looking forward to answering your questions, so feel free to email me at inthecitywithcrystalin {at} gmail.com

Free Wifi- Yup!
July is upon us ♥ And for all you who don’t know (or for those of you who refuse to step into the green and white clad coffee shop), yesterday, Starbucks launched it’s free unlimited WiFi for Everyone! This is sooo clutch, considering I seem to get more work done when I’m alone, away from home. Now, rather than searching for the one or two coffee shops around town with internet access, I can stop in at any near by Starbucks (and we all know there’s one on every corner . With free Wifi, Starbucks is also trying to lure in customers with family style tables, flowers, cute furniture, and snack plates. I think this is quite delightful if I do say so myself!

Oh Bachelor
I was so trilled for the season finale of the Bachelor and to my surprise I was also in store for the After the Final Rose show… Oh Chris Harrison you’ve done me proud! This will be my first show of the entire season without my Bachelor in crime roommate, but I’m sure she’s doing better things in lovely Australia with the beau, I mean LGR (lets get real). Obviously, you know I’m disappointed in Jake’s choice! I knew what to expect, but that didn’t mean my heart wasn’t broken for Tenley. The most precious thing going through another heart break, was pretty devastating to see… I don’t fair well with men right now, uuhh! I will say that after seeing Vienna and Jake together on the After the Final Rose show, it appears they are in love (at least they did something with her hair ). Well… I mean physical chemistry can only last so long Jake. I really hope you made the right choice and I don’t happen to see US Magazine at the grocery store in a couple of weeks with splits-ville. As for Tenley dear, it’s better now than later… been there done that. And Allie, you were a bit awkward last night, but I will tune in to see what you have to offer in my “reality” TV fix. AND even though we all know Jason Mesnick is a complete douche, I will be tuning in to the wedding… what can I say, I’m a sucker for sappy, reality TV. What are your thoughts on last nights season finale?

Sweet Little Lies
As you have noticed, I have a little obsession with Ms. Conrad. I never would have thunk it, but yes, I read her first novel, LA Candy. I’ll admit it, I miss the LC days on the Hills. Lauren’s first book was an easy, gossipy read, but allows readers to understand the behind the scenes of taping a reality show. For those of you who watch the Hills, the book gives you an inside look at how everything goes down; getting mic’d up, release forms, scheduled hangouts, edits, and having to re-do scenes. Last week Lauren set out on her book tour with the new release of Sweet Little Lies the second novel of her “LA Candy” series. Sweet Little Lies picks up right where LA Candy left off; Jane learns the drawbacks of her new found fame when racy photos of her are leaked on the Internet (sound familiar?). Lauren hopes Sweet Little Lies will dive a little deeper into the story of reality-TV star Jane Roberts and her life in the Hollywood spotlight. Considering I could watch rerun episodes of the Hills all day, you know I will be picking up Sweet Little Lies in order to maintain my LC Hills fix (I know, I know I’m a sucker for reality TV). Lauren will be at Cooperfield today for her San Francisco signing! Follow Lauren Conrad on Twitter and see what she’s up to next. Will you read Sweet Little Lies?

iPhone Screen Replacement
So, my iPhone was a complete mess! As you can see by the pictures below, not only did my screen crack, but my film came up, leaving bubbles and a dirty surface. My dad came to the rescue and googled a ‘How to fix your iPhone screen’ and found an interactive video on YouTube. He ordered a new Apple iPhone 3g Glass Screen + Digitizer + Adhesive Lens Cover on amazon.com for less than $15 and followed the video to bring my phone back to life. The first time around, we had a problem with the connection from the digitizing board, causing the touch screen not to respond to my touches. My dad went back in to fix the problem (which was pretty easy) and my phone seriously looks and works like a brand new phone. iPhone Screen Replacement: I know a lot of you out there with a cracked iPhone screen could use this DIY video and the Apple iPhone 3g Glass Screen + Digitizer + Adhesive Lens Cover. I’m telling you, $15-$25 and maybe 2o minutes of your time is soooo worth it . Thanks dad! Buy it now:
