Makeup: Game Changers

{Stila Cheek Convertible Color, M.A.C Fix +, M.A.C Paint}

I don’t apply these on a daily basis but anytime I actually ‘get dressed’ or when I know I’ll be out all day, I use what I like to call the game changers. The above products make such an impact on my overall look and really help keep my makeup in place all day. I didn’t realize how great this combo was until my Gap photo shoot last week (they asked me to do my own hair and makeup because the shoot was about my “everyday style.”). I literally left the apartment around 8:30 am and didn’t get home until 4:00 pm and other than one touch up (before my close up interview), my makeup was still pretty flawless. The Stila cheek convertible is brilliant, I love the dewy look it gives and it really helps keep my blush/bronzer on all day. The M.A.C paint prevents any eye shadow creases and keeps the colors popping. The M.A.C Fix + is one of those products you didn’t know you needed until you’ve tried it. Just a few spritz really evens out your skin and adds a bit of a glow. I’m OBSESSED!

Since I don’t use these products every time I leave the house, they’ve lasted a long time… I’m kinda embarrassed to say the cheek convertible and eye paint are over a year old, ha! If you’re looking to change up your makeup routine or for products that create a lasting look, these are without a doubt my winners.

If you use any of these items, I’d love to hear your thoughts. Also, what are some of your beauty game changers?

New Do

1.2.3

I’ve been leaning toward a new do lately. Of course, the bf wants me to stick with the long locks (I feel like all boys like long hair), but blah, I’m bored! I’m not thinking too short, but perhaps a mid-length like Jessica Biel? But then again, the long severe layers on Lindsey and long hair with volume is just gorgeous! Eeeek…. what do you think? What do you guys do when  you get bored with your hair?

Interview: Summer Fashion with Allie

Recently, I interviewed a girlfriend, fellow fashionista, and follower of yours truly, to discuss summer essentials, and what this time of year means to her. Allie’s ensembles have always been head turning, but more recently she’s been a definite fashion inspiration for me. This quintessential California girl is an avid shopper, enjoys a bargain, and isn’t afraid to take a risk… how can I not adore her? I love her beach-y chic style and not to mention her gorgeous sun-kissed skin. Santa Barbara suits you well hun ♥

I had to share some of her summer secrets and inspiring looks with all of you.

I’m sure you’ll love her style( relatable, fun, and girly), just as much as I do…

San Francisco Calgels

Tara and I just died when we saw Emily Schuman feature her sparkely Calgels several weeks ago. We immediately Googled Calgel nails in and around San Francisco and found Asako at Nail Art House in Japantown. Although Calgels  have yet to make it’s mark in the States, this form of nail art is huge in Japan- women budget around $200/ visit. Calgel is actually a Japanese brand of soak off gel nails, which is similar to acrylic nails but don’t do quite as much damage to your nail, while also allowing the nail to breathe…SWEETNESS!

Our Visit Equals Glorious!

Our experience was absolutely fabulous; a. we journeyed into Japantown for the first time (it has the cutest shops, and the smell of sushi lingers in the air, yummm), b. Asako was super sweet, and c. our nails, they’re glorious, amazing, words can’t describe! OBSESSED~ so giddy! Yes, it takes about 40 minutes a session, yes it’s a bit pricey, but with home upkeep they’ll last you about 3 weeks of shine and perfection!

If your in the San Francisco area, go visit Asako at Nail Art House in Japantown~ she won’t disappoint ;)

{I decided on fine gold glitter.}

I Need Volume!

{Aveda Volumizing Tonic $14}

So, I recently bought Aveda’s Volumizing Tonic and absolutely love it. It not only gives me volume without being sticky, it also smells wonderful! I usually don’t use hair products, but my hair is so long now and heavy that it lays flat on top, which honestly makes my hair look dead. I’ve used some styling mouses, but they’re all way too sticky to use on a regular basis. With Aveda’s Volumizing Tonic, spray about 8 spritz (for thick to medium hair) around the crown of your head and on the back, blow dry your hair (damp or dry), and there you have it; beautiful, full, lively hair. This product can be used everyday on all hair types… we all love a little body and shine :)
