Let me first start out by saying these 10 things may or may not be awesome or awkward, just thought it was a fun title. Clearly, today’s post is a little different from my normal Friday posts, but I thought it might be fun to share some weird and quirky things that make up my 5 foot self. I wouldn’t necessarily say this a rendition of Things I’m Afraid To Tell You, but it does go back to keeping it real, like no make-up real. Things aren’t always super glamorous, cute outfits, shopping, and new restaurants. I work A LOT. I eat the same three things for days in a row and spend a lot of time in clothes that should never make it out the door. Sound familiar to anyone else? I guess the whole intention of this post is for you to get a better sense of who I am, the good, the bad, the ugly… or just plain weird. Enjoy!
- I eat my cereal dry and I pick out all the cashews. I like cashews but not in my cereal.
- It’s easy for me to eat vegan but terribly hard to be gluten free. I struggle with this every day. I dream of bread (I have it once in awhile and suffer every time).
- I’m mental about every decision, action, plan, purchase. I overthink everything! It’s annoying and drives my boyfriend crazy.
- I have a very strong sense of smell. Yes, when I meet you I can smell you instantly. I can’t help it.
- I never brush my hair and rarely use hair products. I’m super sensitive to any and all things sticky. But then I get mad at my hair for having no volume. I swear, it’s a constant battle.
- After living and driving in the city for almost 3 years, I still sweat every time I parallel park.
- I make all meals spicy except cereal, desserts, and salads.
- I make a killer popcorn mix. And sometimes I BYOP to the movie theatre (I hide it in my purse).
- I may have a blog and accounts on various social media sites, but in real life, I’m pretty shy. I’m also a huge home body. Do I like to explore the city, hang out with friends, grab dinner, yes. But, at the end of the day, I love being home with my other half, ordering take-out, and watching a movie.
- I’m a complete morning person. I wake up at 6am everyday because I choose to. There’s something very therapeutic about a cup of coffee, a bowl of cereal, and emails early in the morning (aka if you want a quick response, send your emails in the morning). But on the other hand, I can fall asleep at 9pm, easy.
Ok, that’s enough for now. I hope you all have a wonderful weekend, happy Friday!

Some of the many reasons why I love you!
I enjoyed this post so much! Cute/fun photo too btw!
I have to admit, I relate to #5, 6 and 9. I love hair styles and what I find online, but struggle with making more of an effort to do my own hair. I used to do a lot more at my previous job, but once I changed offices, it went down hill. =P I also dislike parallel parking – mainly because I have a fear of going in reverse (weird, I know) and I too am so shy. It’s my downfall for sure. =P

Thank you for sharing! How lovely… You have such beautiful hairs… I should get on 6 am schedule! It’s so hard for me to do..

I don’t brush my hair either, I’m probably the only one that hates how my hair feels after it’s done. My boyfriend thinks it the weirdest thing.
Love this post and I think you need to share your popcorn combo!
I love posts like this – getting to know my blogger “friends” a little better!
I am trying to eat less gluten, and so I understand to some extent the challenge of #2 (last night my girlfriends and I had happy hour at a gourmet pizza kitchen… temptation!)
#5 and #9 are like me too! And I am totally jealous that you are a morning person!
xx
Here&Now
P.S. That picture is so cute, and fab editing!
Love this picture and post
I remember #4 from when we met and #8 made me giggle because I do the same thing!
I love this and want to do a post of my own! I am similar in a lot of ways. and can I just say hell ya to #6…lol.
Cute picture by the way!
Parallel parking gives me heart palpitations. LOL Lucky I don’t have my company car anymore so I never have to do it!! (This is one big reason I feel like I can’t move out of NYC…haha)
I love posts like this! I think you should make them a regular feature! I am the same way in regards to the sense of smell- I’m super sensitive to smells and start coughing uncontrollably (super attractive) when I’m around strong cleaning smells, etc. And that’s amazing about your hair! I would kill for hair that didn’t require so much work- mine is constantly full of products and multiple heat processes just to get it to lay right! Have a great weekend!
Love this post! After serving myself a bowl of cereal I I crush it with my hands before pouring milk and I pour milk as I eat it, so weird I know. I also never brush my hair, just once a day after I wash it, and I also take ages to decide on a purchase, it took me a whole week to decide on that jacket I won from that 2 Penny Blue giveaway, and it was for free!
Aww I love this post girl! I think I need to do a similar one on my blog because I can totally relate to a lot of the things you mentioned here…like the leaving the house in clothes that I probably shouldn’t…and waking up at 6am and falling asleep at 9!

I LOVE this post! Super fun and love learning more about you! Makes me want to meet you all the more. I definitely have some pretty weird things about me too. Maybe I’ll do one of these too!
I am so surprised to hear you are shy! would have never thought. But I am the exact same way about the home body thing. I LOVE being home and sometimes by myself just watching tv and reruns of the City

I so enjoyed reading your not so direct things-I’m-afraid-to-tell-you post. SERIOUSLY. I think this is hands down the one I most relate to. #3, YES. Over thinker, yup. I can relate. And it is EXHAUSTING. I laughed at the popcorn thing, sneaking in the theater.I always feel guilty. Been teetering on vegan and ugh movie theater butter. seriously heart attack. Have you tried cauliflower popcorn? it’s big in the vegan world, but not so much feeling the fake butter attempt of the nutritional yeast (eww) everything spicy, I’m with you on that, cayenne lover over here! I think I like you even more for #9. the blog world projects that our lives are one way, but I agree, total homebody, netflix addict and totally a social person, but prefer to be at home, with the lovey! Hey, it’s the good life. And it’s FREE
I totally love your blog Crystalin! You rock!

I have to agree, cashews in cereal would be totally weird and no matter how much practice you have, parallel parking is the worst. Hope all is well love
Crystalin, I love this post! You look so adorable and I have to admit I’m a little happy to hear you have down days too. Thanks for sharing a little bit about yourself.
This is a great picture! I just now found your fabulous blog and am a new follower on bloglovin:)
