As you all know, Crystalin is off getting a tan in Costa Rica, and she was sweet enough to ask me (Tina from east.love.west) to do a guest post! Since I know we are all ready for spring, I thought I’d put together a few things on my wish-list for the upcoming season!

I feel like white jeans and a chambray shirt dress are great light-weight staples for spring. And I love using tangerine, yellow and sea-foam as accent colors. Leather sandals, and a pair of platform wedges are also on my list, as well as a practical tote bag (loving #9 from Old Navy!). Enjoy!

Thanks again to Crystalin for letting me take over for the day, and don’t forget to come visit me at east.love.west!

Guest Post: Lauren from L.A. in the Bay

Hello loves! My name is Lauren and I blog over at the fashion & lifestyle blog, L.A. in the bay. Was thrilled when Crystalin asked me to stop by her amazing blog while she is off soaking up the sun in Costa Rica! And speaking of sun, Spring is almost here! Cannot wait for loads of pastels, neon’s, florals, and flowy dresses. Here is a little snippet of my never-ending wishlist for Spring 2012.

For #5, I just want the whole outfit – plain and simple. And how perfect of an outfit would that TopShop Shirtdress be with those Ninewest color blocked sandals? I just may have to buy both!
.
Do any of these strike your fancy?
.
Special thanks to Crystalin for having me!

1 Piece 2 Ways

{Left: Old Navy sweater dress, Gap denim vest (similar), Foley + Corinna crossbody bag, Sam Moon necklace Right: Old Navy  jeans & chambray, Michael Kors necklace, Jessica Simpson pumps (old)}

Earlier this week I participated in Jessica Quirk’s What I Wore Winter Remix Challenge. The challenge was to take one piece from our closet and style it two ways. Rather than remix a top or a pair of jeans two different ways, I took it a step further, and styled this Old Navy sweater dress as a dress and sweater. I somehow managed to roll up the extra layers and tuck it under to make for a sweater. A bit bulky, but I think I achieved my overall vision. At the end of this, I learned, when in doubt, buy stripes. They can be reworked in so many ways!
.
Thank you Victoria for sending me the link to this. And Jessica, thank you for hosting such a fun challenge. I’ve also received a ton of new followers and emails and just want to say thank you for your support and for stopping by.

Feeling the Love

{Gap sweater, Old Navy blouse & jeans, Nine West shoes, Curly in the City clutch, Tobi necklace}

I was inspired to pick up this orange blouse when I first saw it on Sara via instagram. So bright and so fun! The pink cardigan and ‘Love’ Starbucks cup were both coincidental here, but very Valentine’s Day appropriate, don’t you think? The bright colors and white denim have me daydreaming about warmer weather and overly excited for Spring.
.
Yeah… I’m a big fan of white denim all year round, so I’m sure you’ll be seeing these remixed more than once (forewarning). If you’re looking for a pair, I’d recommend these Old Navy ones- just the right thickness and so soft.
.
In other news, I want to wish you a very happy Valentine’s Day! Hope your day is filled with beautiful flowers, dinner dates, sweets and chocolates, and most of all, lots of love.

Weekend Recap

Good morning, how was your weekend? The bf and I spent the majority of the past two days running around seeing family, running errands, and picking up the last few things for our trip. I have a feeling, today will be a 2-large-cups of coffee kinda day… anyone else? Alright (sigh), I’m off to tackle my large to-do list. Happy Monday!

Vested

 {Gap jeans & vest (similar style), H&M top (similar style), Forever 21 necklace, Zara flats, Marc by Marc Jacobs bag, Michael Kors watch, David Yurman ring, random bracelets}

This vest is a staple in my wardrobe and is always in high rotation. A lot of times it’s hard for me to walk out the door with one layer. I typically reach for a sweater or a jacket, but this vest is a great alternative. I love the color and cut and typically pair it with something casual, like flats and a tee, or with a cute dress. What do you think, are you a vest kinda girl?

Currently Craving: Vacation Edition

As mentioned before (several times and I’m probably over doing it, sorry), I’m off to Costa Rica in less than 10 days! With the thought of my feet in the sand, warm sunshine, and cocktail in hand, it’s only appropriate to dedicate this week’s Currently Craving to my vacation. I’m looking to bring a handful of dresses (I mean I am going for a wedding) and all things bright. Would die to have the Tucker maxi dress above, isn’t the color stunning? Hopefully, I’ll find something similar this weekend. eeek, totally excited!

Nautical in Red

{Old Navy jeans & chambray (boys), Forever 21 sweater (similar style), Zara shoes, Michael Kors necklace, Madison Elizabeth Co. clutch, Michael Kors watch, David Yurman ring, random bracelets}

My first dose of colored denim and I’m obsessed! It really adds the perfect pop of color and is surprisingly super versatile. I scored this pair at Old Navy on sale and in my size. I love that anything petite in store is always on sale (perks of having short legs, haha)! Totally meant to be, right?

Fun little fact. The bf found a chambray shirt at Old Navy (great fit and quality) a while back and I loved it so much I purchased the same one in the boys section. Love the fit and the fabric.

Weekend Recap

{Palace of Fine Arts on a gorgeous day in the city}

{one of our favorite lunch spots, Tacolicious}

{a mix of lemon and mixed berry sorbet at Yogorino. A must try!}

{it’s finally official =)}

{another morning view from our place}

Boy, it was tough getting up this morning (anyone else?). I’ve been on a 5 am wake up kick as of late (not by choice), so I think my sleep deprivation has caught up to me… Anyway, how was your weekend? Eat lots of yummy Super Bowl inspired appetizers? Other than watching the game yesterday, the bf and I spent the weekend enjoying the warm weather with a walk around the Palace of Fine Arts, eating lunch at Tacolicious, and indulging in amazing sorbet. Oh yes, I finally received my passport (expedited version)! I was cutting it super close, so I’m definitely relieved.
.
Cheers to a great week ahead!
