Weekend Recap

{my favorite way to watch the NBA playoffs}

{the view out our window never gets old}

{Tacolicious might just have my favorite tacos}

{perfect way to end the weekend}

{lemon sorbet and my new favorite classic Coach bag}

{made a quick Sunday morning trip downtown // rippin up and destroying some denim}

Happy Monday! How was your weekend? I kept things pretty low, but some highlights included take-out burritos with the boy, a trip downtown, lunch at Tacolicious, and a pit stop at Yogorino.

It’s the boy’s last week of school before summer break, which also means the last week before our summer gets crazy. We have a couple mini trips coming up (Portland and LA) and I cannot wait! I have a feeling it’s gonna be a great week… bring it on Monday!

Color Coordinated

{Silence + Noise blazer, J.Crew blouse, F21 jeans, H&M flower pin, Target clutch, Christian Siriano for Payless pumps}

Happy Friday! Have any fun plans for the first weekend in June? I’m looking forward to a pretty low key couple of days… a day in the sun, a run along the Marina, movie night, burritos, and sorbet. That sounds about right. Whatever you have planned, I hope it’s a good one =)

Maxed Out

Shopbop: A.L.C. Helena dress // Olcay Gulsen high neck dress // Pencey strapless Godet dress Nordstrom: BCBG Max Azria pleated color block chiffon dress // Lush knit maxi dress // Eight Sixty stripe maxi dress  Asos: Oasis stripe maxi // Maxi dress with triple strap back detail // Three Floor Freshers color block maxi

While browsing the other day, I noticed myself gravitating toward every maxi dress. They’re great for bbq’s, easy to lounge in, and perfect for special occasions. The best part, I can wear my tallest wedges or my comfortable flats! Adore the fun Pencey polka dot dress and could totally see myself in the orange Olcay Gulsen number for a wedding this summer.

Anyone else stocking up on maxis? And if so, what are your favorite brands?

Red, White + Blue

{Gap blouse + belt, Calvin Klein shorts (old), F21 sweater + hat (similar), Asos espadrilles, Foley + Corinna Disco City crossbody, gold pendant necklace from a vendor in NY (love this one)}

As we approach summer, I love stocking up on fun shorts and flats. Usually my summer looks have to pass two tests in sf; comfortable enough to walk in and layerable (did i just make that up?). Flats are perfect for hills and long walks and I love that shorts can be paired with flowy tanks, but then as the wind picks up, with thicker sweaters. I’d definitely say I’m a shorts and flats kinda gal… No doubt, my go-to pieces for warmer days.

What are some of your summer staples?

Weekend Recap

{babysat this little girl Friday night}

{denim on denim for lunch on Fillmore}

{Pizzeria Delfina with Tina and our guys}

{Marinara pizza with kalamata olives, capers, calabrese peppers, and garlic}

{prettiness on our walk around the neighborhood}

{favorite dog park}

{a weekend is not complete with a little chips and guac}

{beautiful weather on Sunday meant a walk to the Marina for lunch}

Anyone else totally struggling to get it together this morning? Long weekends are great, but it’s almost harder to get up for work on Tuesday. Large coffee please!

Anyway, how was your weekend? The bf and I spent Saturday enjoying a much needed long workout and then went to a dinner get-together with some of his co workers. Sunday, I finally got to meet up with Tina and her boy. We met for lunch at Pizzeria Delfina, had drinks at Harry’s and then watched the NBA playoffs down at the Republic. Lot’s of drinking involved, but so much fun. Tina you are a doll! Memorial Day was spent resting, catching up on blogs, camping out on Pinterest, and uploading photos… a perfect way to end a long weekend.

Whatever you did, I hope it was fantastic! Now off to the grind, Happy Tuesday!

TGIF + Happy 3 Day Weekend

TGIF!  This week has been all over the place so, this three day weekend could not have come at a better time. Other than a dinner tomorrow night, we don’t have much planned. I am hoping the next couple days looks similar to the above; picnic-ing, a little wine, yummy food, friends, relaxing and I wouldn’t mind doing it all in a comfy stripe number if you know what I mean.

What do you have planned? Have any Memorial Day weekend traditions?

Blogger Confessions

Aside from a few things (classic handbag, perfect length jeans, jewelry) I rarely ever pay full price for anything. Ever since I started spending more time online and researching for the blog, I found more ways to save. It’s less about being cheap and more about taking advantage of the system. If there’s a coupon, why not use it? It’s almost like we pay full price for convenience because if you take the time to do research, you’ll find a deal.

I cannot tell you how many times I’ve purchased something at retail and it went on sale three weeks later for a ¼ of the original price. For an analytical mind like mine, paying $100 for a top when I could have gotten it for $35, drives me nuts!

Don’t get me wrong, I’ve definitely waited too long to purchase something and lost out. But overall, I’d say doing my research and getting familiar with the system has allowed me to become a better more savvy shopper. Speaking of, I just scored a vintage Coach crossbody on Threadflip =)

Sometimes I think I’m crazy, but most of the time I’m happy I was able to find shoes I’ve been wanting for half off. What do you think? Do you pay full price because it’s easier or do you search for deals?

Way Tall

{H&M top & hat, Gap trouser & belt, Francesca’s Collections necklace (similar), Furla tote (similar)}

Every girl needs denim trousers in their closet, period. I cannot tell you how much I love these. First of all, I get to wear comfy wedges and look way tall. Second of all, I love the way they sit on my hips and fit my boyish body type. The combination of a high waist and a tucked in shirt helps elongate my body. For a girl 5 feet tall, this is a dream.

You might shy away from trousers because of the scary wide leg, but I can assure you, they do wonders to all body types. My current mission, find a petite pair from Ann Taylor (I’ve heard good things). Have you found a pair you love, if so, what brands?

Easy Peasy

{StyleMint Broadway tee, Old Navy vest & jeans, Stella Starr jacket via Nordstrom (old), Qupid flats via Sway Chic, Foley + Corinna Disco City crossbody, See Jewelry necklace}

I wore this easy peasy look on Saturday to run errands and meet up with the bf’s parents for dinner. I know I’ve said this before, but whenever I’m looking for a casual chic look I lean on one of my many classic stripe tees… A no fuss and easy outfit ftw.

Weekend Recap

{favorite agua fresca with lunch}

{pretty flowers at the bf’s parent’s house}

{new favorite sandals from Target}

{spent Sunday afternoon like this}

{granola with fruit- never gets old}

Happy Monday! How was your weekend? The bf and I spent the majority of ours relaxing and watching a ton of playoff basketball. It was probably the most unplanned weekend in a long time… It was nice not having anywhere to be or anything to do. Saturday we enjoyed an early morning shopping trip downtown in search of new workout shoes for the boy (success). We made a pit stop at our favorite local Mexican spot, and finished the night off at the bf’s parents house for dinner. Sunday included a much needed workout and an afternoon of fresh strawberries, lemonade, and a new mani. Relaxing but productive weekends are always the best!
